PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES With the advent of “Cloud Everything”, software development, software operations and IT infrastructure operations are merging at an increasing speed. Developers focus more and more on releasing software. Operations are implementing more and more infrastructure as code. Software developers are required to operate their products in the Cloud ("you build it, you run it") while people who traditionally operated hardware infrastructure now need to learn coding. DevOps culture brings both sides closer together. We are a team that thrives on this DevOps culture. We not only develop solutions for in-house (i.e. for our own SAP Customer Experience product development teams) and external use, but we also operate services and tools in different Cloud environments. Therefore, we need to understand how product development works and be fully aware of what it means to operate software in a fast-paced environment. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS We are looking for a talented individual to join our team. As an experienced software developer you will be able to bring your expertise and passion to good use. You will be part of an agile development team working on solution for deploying commerce tools on cloud. Using agile methods, you will be able to release new versions of these solutions frequently in an automated fashion into our Cloud-based environments. You will be able to make best use of new technologies, keeping us ahead of the competition. As part of an international team you will have the opportunity to connect to many other development teams locally as well as globally. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Propose technical solutions basing on your creativity and professional knowledge Develop cloud-based solutions using best knowledge Implement tools for deploying commerce to cloud Work closely with development teams to ensure end-to-end quality Promote an Everything-As-Code mindset throughout the company Enable your own team with knowledge and expertise Discuss the technical aspects with the specialist from outside of the team Support our customers solving their problems YOUR QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent Professional experience about software development using modern system languages (e.g. JavaSpring, Go) Working knowledge of kubernetes and containerization technologies Knowledge of CI/CD best practices Experience with automation tools like Chef or Ansible Sound knowledge of modern scripting languages (e.g. Groovy, python, bash) Practical experience with SCM Tools like Git and build tools like Ant/Maven Practical experience/understanding of agile concepts (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, pair programming) and lean principles Strong problem solving skills with the ability to drill down to the code level Good communication skills and fluency in English (both verbal and written) TWPol230219 sapcxcloud tbd WHAT YOU GET FROM US Success is what you make it.
